Welcome aboard the MB Fjellvåken, operating a daily route to and from Skinnarbu – Mogen, on Møsvatn

Step aboard and journey along a historical route that, for generations, has transported hikers, cabin dwellers, and permanent residents to a unique, roadless society. The Fjellvåken, in its various versions, has faithfully maintained its schedule for over 130 years.
This catamaran slices through the breathtaking scenery, passing mountain farms set in a magnificent scenery. The waterway is the main thoroughfare for those living along Møsvatn.

Nestled at an elevation of 918 meters above sea level, a trip on Møsvatn is an unforgettable experience that you’ll carry with you forever.

Description

Join a historic route that has led generations of foot tourists, cottagers and permanent residents, in and out of a unique roadless community. Fjellvåken, in several editions, has gone faithfully on schedule for over 130 years.

The catamaran, which Fjellvåken is, cascades the 4 miles past mountain forests in a fantastic landscape. Vassvegen is the main route for those who live permanently along Lake Møsvatn. The freezing and melting makes one isolated for several weeks in spring and autumn. Møsvatn at 918 MOH is a unique experience that you will never forget.

The boat lands and stays at Liseth, as long as you have plenty of time to walk Kvennavegen and or a trip up to Argefoss, which is actually the start of the industrial adventure. Maybe enjoy something good to bite into and coffee at Argehovd gard. There will be separate information about this at Fjellvåken, on the way in!

It is also a fantastic starting point for day, fishing and tent trips, and a natural start to a longer hike on Hardangervidda. On the boat, there is simple service, but you can order something else when you book.

In collaboration with the National Park Centre, means that passengers on Fjellvåken get a 20% discount on the entrance ticket to the National Park Centre, which this year is launching a VR experience where you are inside Hardangervidda, in the middle of the reindeer herd!
